Sister Pauline Marn SP

Providence Sister Pauline (Margaret Cecilia) Marn died Jan. 13 at Mt. St. Joseph, Spokane. She was 87 years old; she had been a Providence Sister for 69 of those years.

The vigil service was Jan. 15, and the funeral Mass the following morning. Both took place at Mt. St. Joseph. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Sister Pauline was born in Belt, Mont. After attending the Ursuline Academy in Great Falls, Mont., she entered the Providence community in Seattle in July 1930. She professed her final vows in 1935.

She held degrees from the University of Great Falls, Mont., and The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Most of her ministry took place in education, including work as teacher and principal, St. Patrick School, Walla Walla.

She retired to Mt. St. Joseph in 1987.
