Candidate nominations sought for Diocesan Pastoral Council
the Inland Register
(From the April 12, 2001 edition of the Inland Register)
Members of the Diocesan Pastoral Council meet with the bishop four times a year to discuss his ministry and the pastoral needs of the diocese. The meetings are often centered on a particular target of focus — recent topics have included communications and modern media, and liturgy.
Each year in a six-year cycle, requests are sent to parishes of the diocese requesting candidates who might be willing to serve on the DPC.
Parishes receiving requests this year were St. Anne, Medical Lake; St. Joseph, Odessa; St. Joseph, Rockford; St. Boniface, Uniontown; Holy Trinity, Washtucna; Holy Family, Clarkston; Immaculate Conception, Colville; St. Joseph, Dayton; and Mary Queen, St. Anthony, St. Joseph, and St. Francis of Assisi, Spokane.
Individuals registered in these parishes have the opportunity to submit names of people for possible selection for the Council. Membership of the Council attempts to reflect the diversity of the diocese.
The meetings typically begin on Friday evening with dinner and last until mid-afternoon the following day.
Nominations should be sent to: Moderator of the Curia, Catholic Diocese of Spokane, P.O. Box 1453, Spokane, WA 99210-1453.
