World Day of Prayer for Vocations: Remember Spokane’s seminarians on World Day of Prayer for Vocations

by Father Darrin Connall, for the Inland Register

(From the May 3, 2001 edition of the Inland Register)

Pope John Paul II has designated Sunday, May 6 as World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Catholics are asked to offer special prayers on this day with the intention that more women and men might respond to God’s call in their lives.

This would also be an appropriate time to pray for our seminarians as well. The following is a list of the seminarians studying for the Diocese of Spokane. Please remember them in your prayers:

Pedro Bautista: The American College, Louvain, Belgium.
Sam Calderon: Bishop White Seminary, Spokane.
Rafael Herrera: Bishop White Seminary, Spokane.
Jose Jaime Maldonado: Mt. Angel Seminary, St. Benedict, Ore.
Alex Morales: The American College, Louvain, Belgium.
Carlos Muñoz: Bishop White Seminary, Spokane.
Matt Nicks: Bishop White Seminary, Spokane.
Deacon Bonaventure Obisike: St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.
Kevin Oiland: Bishop White Seminary, Spokane.
Joseph Sullivan: Mt. Angel Seminary, St. Benedict, Ore.
Alex Zepeda: Bishop White Seminary, Spokane.

(Father Connall is rector of Bishop White Seminary, Director of Seminarians, and Vocations Director for the Spokane Diocese.)
