Sister Jeanne (Chiara) Keating FSPA

Sister Jeanne Keating of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration died April 30 in La Crosse, Wis.

A prayer service was held May 4 in La Crosse, with the funeral Mass celebrated the next day there. In Spokane, a memorial service and funeral Mass were held May 9 at Sacred Heart Parish.

She was born in Prairie du Chien, Wis., in 1930. At the age of 19 she entered St. Rose Convent and professed vows three years later.

Her career teaching music was spent from Guam to Iowa, including time in Washington State. She served as Western Region Secretary of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, and volunteered at Clare Center, Spokane, before her retirement in April 2000.

Sister Miriam Louise (Helen) Reynolds SNJM

Holy Names Sister Miriam Louise Reynolds died May 6 at the age of 89.

The funeral Mass was celebrated May 11 at the Provincial House Chapel at Marylhurst, Ore.

She was born in Issaquah, Wash., and graduated from St. mary Academy, Portland, before completing her bachelorís degree at Holy Names College, Spokane. She later earned masterís degrees in library science and English from the University of Portland and Portland State University, respectively.

She taught on the elementary and high school levels in Oregon and Washington, including Spokane, for over 50 years.

She retired in 1985 but continued to stay active as a tutor, working in special education systems with the Portland Public Schools.
