Annual Catholic Appeal reaches 101 percent

the Inland Register

(From the June 15, 2001 edition of the Inland Register)

The Annual Catholic Appeal has reached 101 percent of the 2001 goal, according to Steve Kocharhook, Development Director for the Diocese of Spokane.

So far the diocese has received pledges of $1,844,486. More than $1.123 million has already been paid toward the pledges. Anyone who made a pledge to the Appeal will receive monthly payment reminders.

Thirty-three parishes have reached the individual parish goal for the appeal. This is seven less than for the 2000 Appeal. Ordinarily 40 or more parishes reach the goal, said Kocharhook.

The number of donors far exceeded expectations for this year. A goal of 10,790 donors to the Appeal was set. There are 11,847 donors so far this year.

Contributions and pledges to the Appeal are still being accepted through the Diocesan Development Office.
