Spokane Diocese seminarians enjoy lake trip, welcome new students

Seminarians studying for the Diocese of Spokane recently had the opportunity to gather at Waitts Lake for a day of prayer and recreation. It was also an opportunity for returning seminarians to welcome four new men starting seminary formation this year.

The day began with Mass, followed by both shared prayer and silent reflection on Scripture passages related to Godís call to service.

In the afternoon, seminarians had the opportunity to swim, fish, and go waterskiing. Doug Banks, principal of St. Thomas More School, volunteered his time and his ski boat to pull seminarians and to teach others how to ski.

The day ended with a barbecue dinner. Seminarians were joined by their parish pastors as well as advisors and spiritual directors from Bishop White Seminary.
