Students collect, donate stuffed animals for families of terror victims
St. Mary School students took up a different kind of collection this year. For three weeks after the tragedies of Sept. 11, students collected stuffed animals — some 250 of them — to donate to children affected by the events. Blanket designs benefit retreat center
The auxiliary of Immaculate Heart Retreat Center has come up with a novel fund-raising project.
The auxiliary designed a “Diocese of Spokane Historic Afghan.” The blanket features stitched images of various diocesan landmarks through the years, including the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, Gonzaga University, and the former Holy Names Academy.
The special blankets are selling for $57.50 each, with all funds benefitting IHRC.
Past fund-raising efforts have been used to purchase such items as vestments and bedding.
To purchase or for more information, call 838-3557.

St. Paschal's library has long legacy
