After a 1992 stroke she moved to the Maria Court Foster Care Home. At the time of her death she had been a Holy Names Sister for 69 years.

Sister M. Catherine Clare (Rose) Malneritch SNJM

On Jan. 24, Holy Names Sister M. Catherine Clare Malneritch died at the age of 92.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 2 at the Provincial House chapel at Marylhurst, Ore.

She was born in Enumclaw, Wash. and attended Holy Names Normal School, Seattle, before earning degrees from the University of Washington. After completing her second degree she entered the Holy Names community at the age of 24.

As a teacher, she spent two years at Holy Names College, Spokane, and over 30 years at Marylhurst College in Oregon. She taught history and political science courses at both schools.

A period of five years was spent as Assistant General of the Holy Names Congregation, a post which took her to Pierrefonds, Quebec.

She semi-retired in 1982; ill health forced her complete retirement to the care center in 1987.

Remembrances may be made to the Holy Names Ministry or Retirement Fund, P.O. Box 411, Marylhurst, OR 97036.
