WASHINGTON
Archdiocese of Seattle
SEATTLE - Over 200 students from Kennedy High School took part in a hunger retreat, in which they fasted from solid food. They raised $14,263 which they donated to nine charitable organizations in Seattle. The goal was broader than just raising money; it also helped the students learn about less fortunate people.
ARLINGTON - The youth group at Immaculate Conception Church staged the Stations of the Cross. The entire production crew consisted of teenagers who did everything for the play, including writing the reflections that followed each Station. This is the second year the group has presented the polay. The students did more than rehearse to get ready for their presentation; they also prayed together and read Scripture.

IDAHO

COTTONWOOD - Benedictine Sister Radegunda Bischofberger at St. Gertrude Monastery celebrated her 100th birthday March 27. She was born in Switzerland March 28, 1902, and knew by the time she was 12 that she wanted to become a missionary in America. She went door-to-door to raise money for her passage, which she made at age 21. For the next 43 years she served in missions all over Idaho. Her advice to young people looking at Religious life? "Follow your call. You will have much peace if you do."
