Annual Catholic Appeal for 2002 at 95 percent of goal

the Inland Register

(From the May 23, 2002 edition of the Inland Register)

The Development Office of the Diocese of Spokane reported this week that the Annual Catholic Appeal for 2002 has reached 95 of the $2 million goal. Thus far 11,212 donors have pledged $1,903,413.

Donors made their pledges in a variety of ways. Pledge envelopes cards were mailed to every registered Catholic household in Eastern Washington with a letter from Bishop Skylstad. Other people made their pledge as the result of a telephone contact during April. Almost every member of the diocese was contacted, said Steve Kocharhook, the Diocesan Development Director.

Already $1,158,828 has been received in cash payments. That amount will increase over the next seven months, Kocharhook said.

So far 31 parishes out of 71 have reached their parish goal for the Appeal. The table below shows how parishes are progressing toward their goal. A listing of parishes showing the number of donors and the amount pledged can be found on the Annual Appeal website.
