Spokane Vincentians celebrate ‘Mass of Four Intentions’

the Inland Register

(From the Sept. 12, 2002 edition of the Inland Register)

The Spokane Conferences of the St. Vincent de Paul Society gathered at St. Anthony Parish last month to celebrate the “Mass of the Four Intentions.”

The Mass is a tradition with Vincentians, an annual gathering.

Presiding was the Society’s spiritual advisor, Father Gene Tracy, pastor of St. Anthony.

The “four intentions” are specific intentional prayers offered during the Mass: for the pope, the Church, the nation, and the Society and those whom the Society serves.

Twelve new Vincentians were commissioned during the Mass.

A barbecue and potluck supper followed in the parish’s Wilson Hall.
