the Inland Register

(From the Sept. 12, 2002 edition of the Inland Register)

Two distinguished liturgical composers will be giving workshops in the Inland Northwest this autumn. The appearances are sponsored by The Kaufer Company.

First up, Jesuit Father John Foley of the St. Louis Jesuits will be conducting a music and liturgy workshop on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside in Spokane.

Besides discussing liturgical music, Father Foley will also address the topic of the spirituality of liturgical ministers.

In the Clarkston-Lewiston area, composer Grayson Warren Brown will be speaking at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lewiston.

Registration for both workshops is $20 per person, with group rates available.

In addition to his workshop, Brown will be giving a concert on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church in Clarkston. Admission is free; a free-will offering will be collected.

Information and registration is available from the Kaufer Company; call 326-7071, or toll-free (800) 873-7375, or by e-mail. Advance registration by Sept. 20 qualifies for a 10 percent discount on fees. Lewiston and Clarkston parishioners also may register through the parish.
