Sister M. Michele (Anna Marie) Hentges SSND

Sister Michele Hentges, a School Sister of Notre Dame, died Sept. 13 at Good Counsel Convent in Mankato, Minn. She was 74 years old.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 18; the community prayed vespers for her the evening before.

She was born in Odessa, Wash., on her familyís ranch. She attended first grade at St. Mary School in Chewelah, Wash. After the death of her mother she also lived two years in St. Joseph Childrenís Home in Spokane.

She entered the novitiate in 1947 and spent some 30 years teaching in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Washington. In the Spokane Diocese she taught in Spokane, Clarkston, and Colton. Her bachelorís degree in education was earned from Holy Names College, Spokane.

Sister Michele retired in 1999.

Sister Agnesene (Katie) Morgan OSF

Sister Agnesene Morgan of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia died Sept. 17 at St. Ann Convent in Tacoma. She was 94 years old; she had been a professed member of her Religious community for 74 years.

The vigil took place Sept. 20 at St. Ann Convent, Tacoma. The funeral Mass was celebrated at Visitation Church, Tacoma, the following day.

She was born in Murmod, County Cavan, Ireland, and entered her congregation in 1925. In time she earned a bachelorís degree in education from Holy Names College, Spokane.

Her ministerial years were devoted in large part to education and other care of children.

She spent several years at St. Joseph Orphanage in Spokane, and taught for two years at St. Charles School, also in Spokane. She taught throughout the Pacific Northwest, and spent several years as a catechetical teacher in California.
