After 10 years, ‘Saintly Anthony’ draws its own conclusions

It’s a story I’d rather not tell.
I’m sorry to report that Mark Armstrong, the writer and artist who produces the comic
strip “Saintly Anthony,” has decided to discontinue the strip.
The main reason is the lack of response in the Catholic press. The strip was never
enormously popular, but support has waned in the last year or so. The Inland Register is
one of only a handful of papers to subscribe to Armstrong’s services. In a recent letter he
termed “Saintly Anthony” an artistic, but not financial, success.
