Holy Names Sister Cecilia Clare Power, sister of the late Archbishop Cornelius Power of Portland, Ore., died Jan. 18 at the age of 90.
The vigil service was Jan. 21. The funeral Mass was celebrated the next morning. Both took place at the Convent of the Holy Names, Spokane.

She graduated with a degree in music from Marylhurst College and went on to teach music in Oregon Catholic schools until 1960. At that point Sister Cecilia Clare was named music consultant for her community. That work brought her to Holy Names Academy in Spokane and in Seattle.
She was named to Washington provincial leadership in 1970. In 1981 she began offering courses and workshops in personal development. She also maintained a library of spiritual resources.
Although she retired in 1992, she continued to pray for the ministries of the other Sisters and for the world.
