the Inland Register

(From the Feb. 27, 2003 edition of the Inland Register)

Father Rory Pitstick, pastor of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Okanogan, will give a series of presentations on the Bible on the Thursday evenings of Lent.

The series will be hosted by the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave. in Spokane. All are scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m.

Father Pitstick is “coming home” for the series, in a sense; he grew up in the Cathedral Parish and taught religious education classes there at one time.

Cost of the series is $20 per person, or $30 per couple.

The presentations are being termed a “Bible Buffet,” with each book of the Bible given attention during the course of the classes.

The series begins March 6 and concludes April 10. The final session will focus on the Scriptures of Holy Week.

Pre-registration is recommended; call the Cathedral’s office: 358-4290.

Father Pitstick graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in philosophy and studied theology at the Gregorian University, Rome.

He completed a licentiate degree in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome, after his ordination to the priesthood in 1994. He has been pastor in Okanogan since 1998.
