Redemptorist priest will lead mission at St. Augustine Parish this month

Redemptorist Father Carlyle R. Blake will leader a mission at St. Augustine Parish, 428 W. 19th Ave. in Spokane, the week of March 22-30.

Father Blake will speak at all Masses the opening weekend and will preach at all Masses the closing weekend as well.

During the week, from Monday-Thursday, there will be a mission talk at 10 a.m. the evening celebration is scheduled those days for 7 p.m., featuring a mission talk and a short prayer service.

Babysitting will be available at all weekday sessions.

Father Blake has been a Redemptorist priest for 40 years. His extensive ministry experience includes time in the United States, the Caribbean, and the Philippines. He was Superior of the Redemptorist community in St. Thomas and served as chancellor and vicar general of the Diocese of St. Thomas.

He holds a master’s degree in applied theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, Calif. He later taught Methods of Theological Reflection at the School of Applied Theology there.

He comes to Spokane with “an excellent reputation for renewing the spiritual heart of the parishes he visits.”
