Sister Laurette (Mary Levina) Jalbert SNJM

Sister Laurette Jalbert of the Sisters of the Holy Names died April 18 at the age of 76. She had been a Holy Names Sister for 55 years.

The funeral Mass was celebrated April 24 at the Holy Names Provincial House at Marylhurst, Ore. Burial followed at the Marylhurst Convent Cemetery, Marylhurst.

She was born in Astoria, Ore., where she attended Star of the Sea School. She entered the novitiate in 1946 and pronounced Religious vows in 1948. She completed a bachelorís degree in education from Marylhurst College and later, the requirements for her Oregon elementary teaching certificate.

She taught in Holy Names schools throughout the Northwest, including Spokane. She retired from teaching in 1969 and provided support services at the Provincial House until 1996.
