Pastor named for parishes in Oroville, Tonasket

Father Fernando Maldonado has been named pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Oroville, and Holy Rosary Parish, Tonasket.
The appointment was effective July 1.
Father Maldonado was ordained June 29, 1999, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.
His priestly formation took place at Bishop White Seminary, Spokane, and St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.
Father Maldonado also completed Clinical Pastoral Education at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
He is a native of Mexico, and spent three years as a member of the Holy Family Religious order in Spain before beginning his studies for the priesthood for the Spokane Diocese.
After priestly ordination, Father Maldonado was assigned as parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Walla Walla.
From there he was named pastor of the parishes in Pomeroy, Dayton, and Waitsburg.
After a leave of absence, he returned to priestly ministry in the diocese last May. Until his appointment to Oroville and Tonasket, Father Maldonado was serving as parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Parish, Othello.
After consultation with the priests’ personnel committee, Bishop William S. Skylstad has announced the following appointment, effective July 1:
