Catholic Business and Professional Women honor Msgr. David Rosage

the Inland Register

(From the Oct. 23, 2003 edition of the Inland Register)

Msgr. David Rosage recently celebrated his 60th anniversary of priestly ordination.

He is a well-known author of a number of books on prayer and spirituality and the founder of Immaculate Heart Retreat Center.

Among his other ministries over the years has been that of Moderator for the Catholic Business and Professional Women organization.

In honor of his anniversary, the CBPW renamed its scholarship award the Msgr. Rosage Scholarship. The change was made during the groups meeting last month at Rockwood Lane.

The scholarship consists of two annual $750 awards, given to young women of the Spokane Diocese who are in at least their second year of study at a local college or university. Recipients must have financial need and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The awards are made at the CBPWs June meeting.

The CBPW marks its own 53rd anniversary this year. The organization was founded at the request of the late Bishop Bernard Topel. The first president was Jean Thorpe.

All Catholic women are invited to attend the CBPWs annual pre-Christmas auction, set for Oct. 25 at noon at Rockwood Lane. Reservations for the luncheon are $12. Please make reservations by calling 624-5577.
