Sister Mary Francina Reinert SNJM

Holy Names Sister Mary Francina (Ida Juliana) Reinert died Jan. 17 at the age of 95. She had been a member of her Religious community since 1925.

The vigil was prayed Jan. 20; her funeral Mass was celebrated the following morning. Both took place at the Convent of the Holy Names in Spokane.

She was born in Rotterdam, Holland. Her family came to Spokane in 1912 and she became a citizen through her fatherís naturalization in 1918.

She attended St. Aloysius School and Holy Names Academy, and earned a bachelorís degree in education from Holy Names College.

She taught for 25 years in schools in Washington before becoming the bookkeeper for Holy Names Academy, Seattle, and Holy Names (later Fort Wright) College in Spokane.

Sister Mary Francina worked with schoolsí alumna associations and ministered to the shut-ins of her neighborhood.
