Vocations presentation at Gonzaga Prep

The Theology Department at Gonzaga Prep recently invited Father Darrin Connall, the Spokane Diocese’s Vocation Director, to give a three-day presentation on vocations to the school’s junior class, as part of their course on history and doctrine. The first day was spent talking about Christians’ universal call to holiness and how all the baptized share that same vocation. The second day focused on vocations to Religious life. The students learned about both active and contemplative Religious orders of women. A special presentation was given by the Poor Clare Sisters on their lives of contemplative prayer in the monastery. The final day was spent talking about priesthood and the different ways priests serve the Church today. With Father Connall (at right) are Poor Clare Sisters Colleen Byrne and Marcia Kay LaCour.
