Holy Names Sister Margaret McNamee, 93, died June 9. She had been a member of her Religious community since 1929.
The funeral Mass was celebrated June 12 at the Convent of the Holy Names in Spokane.
She was born and raised in Seattle.
Sister Margaret pronounced her vows in 1931 and began teaching in primary grades in Oregon and Washington in 1933. She also worked in school libraries before beginning the ministry of hospital visitor in Yakima in the early 1970s.
In 1984 Sister Margaret moved to the convent in Spokane.

Sister Elizabeth Sandmeyer of the Sisters of Providence died June 13 in Seattle. She had been a Sister of Providence for more than 63 years.
The funeral Mass was celebrated June 17 at St. Joseph Residence in Seattle. Burial was at St. James Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash.
She was born in 1945 in Yakima, Wash., and entered the Providence novitiate in 1941 in Seattle. She professed final vows in 1945 and in time earned degrees in literature from Seattle University and the University of Notre Dame, as well as a masterís degree in gerontology from Columbia University.
She taught in several schools in the American West, including St. Vincent Academy in Walla Walla. In 1994 she was awarded the Washington Distinguished Citizen Award for her work with English as a Second Language students.
She retired to St. Joseph Residence, Seattle, in 1998.
