Motorcyclists ride to benefit Morning Star Boys’ Ranch
the Inland Register
(From the July 29, 2004 edition of the Inland Register)
Morning Star Boys’ Ranch has helped more than 1,267 boys in its more than 45 years of ministry to the youth of the Inland Northwest.
The Ranch gets a little help of its own next month when the “Boys’ Ranch Ride” takes off from the Shumate Harley Davidson Store at 6815 E. Trent Ave. in Spokane.
Motorcycle enthusiasts will be gathering for a day’s organizing riding and activity in the Inland Northwest.
Two routes will be followed.
The first, approximately 95 miles, moves from the Spokane Valley through the Palouse countryside to Tekoa, Wash; across to Tensed, Idaho; and up to Rockford Bay on Lake Coeur d’Alene. The second route, about 150 miles, follows the same route to Tekoa, then continues to Garfield/Palouse, across to Potlatch, and back up Highway 95 to Rockford Bay.
Check-in beings at 8:30 a.m.; the ride leaves at 10 a.m.
The $25 registration includes a continental breakfast, barbecue lunch at Shooters Bar and Grill, a t-shirt featuring original art work created by a Morning Star resident (guaranteed to the first 300 to register), and live music at Shooters by the Spokane band The Trailer Park Girls.
Proceeds benefit Morning Star.
