Holy Family Hospital honors women Religious at anniversary celebration

Holy Family Hospital employees and guests attended a special 40th Anniversary Spirit Week Mass on Aug. 8 in honor of the hospitalís founders, the Dominican Sisters, and its sponsors, the Sisters of Providence.
More than 100 people listened while Father Stan Malnar, celebrant and homilist, spoke about the legacy of the Dominican Sisters. He called upon Sister Maureen Healy and Sister Mary Agnes Koenig who read aloud the names of the Sisters who have worked at Holy Family Hospital over the past 40 years. Each Sister in attendance was presented with a red rose in honor of the occasion. In addition, they were presented with a beautiful plant by hospital President, Tom Corley, for planting in their new Jubilee Garden at the Dominican Center.
Dominican Sisters honored were Sisters Mary Agnes, Bnigna, Mary Jane, Alberta. Matthias (Mary Toekes), Fidelis, Bernadette, Seraphina, Isentrude, Maureen, Consuelo, Tarcisia, KC, Eumelia, Marilyn, Catherine, Fabia, Karleta, Xavier, Blanda, Jucunda, Mary Albert, Theresa, Igmara, Mary Rose, Mary William, Celestine, Ellen, Veronica, Juliann, Martina, Mary Ruth, Anthony Marie, Karen, Mary Andrew, Edwardina, Jean Marie, Donna Marie, Mary Helen, and Tereseanna.
The Sisters of Providence in attendance were also gratefully acknowledged and each presented with a red rose, as well as a plant that will be planted in the Emilie Court Assisted Living garden. Sisters of Providence present included Sisters Rosalie, Mary Katherine, and Lily May.
The Mass was sponsored by Holy Family Hospitalís Mission Integration Committee.
