Priest ordained for Spokane Diocese Aug. 6 at Cathedral

Deacon Pedro Bautista-Peraza was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Spokane Aug. 6 by Bishop William S. Skylstad at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Father Bautista-Peraza recently completed theological studies at the American College in Louvain, Belgium.

He is a native of Mexico.

Father Bautista-Peraza’s first assignment as a priest will be as the new parochial vicar at St. Patrick and St. Francis of Assisi parishes in Walla Walla. He begins that assignment Sept. 1.

During his years of priestly formation, Father Bautista-Peraza also ministered at St. Mary Parish, Spokane Valley, and Sacred Heart Parish, Othello.
