Scouting honors

Three members of Venturing Crew 393, sponsored by Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Spokane, received honors from Bishop Skylstad during Scouting award ceremonies Feb. 6 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, Spokane. Cameron Oriard (second from left), Kara Caparoso (center) and Katie Vogel (right) earned Pope Pius XII medals, Scouting’s Catholic religious award for high school-age Scouts. Caparoso and Vogel, juniors at Ferris High School, are the first female Venturing crew members in the Spokane Diocese to earn the Award. Oriard is a Ferris sophomore. All three Crew Members also earn the Bronze Award for Youth Ministry which was also presented by Bishop Skylstad.
