Let us know why you’re glad to be Catholic
the Inland Register
(From the July 28, 2005 edition of the Inland Register)
The empirical data was collected by Chicago’s National Opinion Research Center. And if it’s accurate, most Catholics like being Catholic.
A new Inland Register feature gives readers a chance to share with one another their experiences of being glad, happy, proud Catholics.
If you have a pleasant memory you treasure that relates to being Catholic, tell us about it. If you have a positive or uplifting experience in the context of family or parish life, or in the workplace, that makes you glad you’re Catholic, send it to us.
If you leave Mass on a Sunday, on Saturday evening, or on a weekday with a particularly helpful or delightful bit of wisdom from the homily, share the good news. If something amusing or touching happens that leaves you thinking to yourself, “That makes me glad that I’m a Catholic,” we want to hear about it.
Almost anything of a positive, uplifting nature is welcome, from the past or present, no matter how small or insignificant you might think it is. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the positive, graced moments that happen to all of us, if we take the time to think about them and recognize them.
(We appreciate enthusiasm – but please, be brief.)

Although sometimes submissions have to be edited, we’ll do our best to let your unique voice come through. We’ll respect requests to remain anonymous, but please include your name and phone number, in case we have any questions. Otherwise, we’ll print your name and, if you’ll share it with us, the name of your parish.
