(From the Jan. 12, 2006 edition of the Inland Register)

Volunteers at St. Charles Parish, Spokane, carve some of the 16 turkeys that were prepared for Spokane area residents in need of a Christmas Day dinner. For about 30 years parishioners have been donating food, cash and time to present the holiday feast. This Christmas some 275 persons were fed in the parish auditorium and with take-out meals. Many received winter clothing as well, donated by parishioners. Leftover food and clothing went to the House of Charity. Extra cash from the more than $2,000 donated went to the St. Charles Food Bank. Helping with turkey carving were , from left, Gene Gosse, Manny Aguilar, Lee Bayley, James Short, and Peter Bach.
