Assignments change for two diocesan deacons

Ministerial appointments have changed for two deacons of the Spokane Diocese.
Deacon Bob King has retired from parish ministry at St. Anne Parish, Medical Lake. (Editorís note: click here for Deacon King's retirement story from the Feb. 2, 2006 edition of the Inland Register.)
Deacon Steve Prawdzik has been assigned to the Catholic community at Fairchild Air Force Base outside Spokane.
He had formerly been involved in ministry at St. Peter Parish, Spokane.
Deacon Prawdzik was ordained in 1999. His other ministries have included work as diocesan chaplain of the Catholic Boy Scouts, and work with the Handicapped Encounter Christ retreats at Immaculate Heart Retreat Center.
He retired in 1997 from the Air Force after 29 years of service. He holds degrees in environmental engineering and industrial hygiene, and works for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries as a Regional Hearings Officer, dealing with contested safety and health compliance inspections.
He and his wife, Jan. have two adult children.
