Bishop Skylstad ordained four men during Mass the evening of Friday, July 7, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Luis Rivera was ordained a deacon. Deacon Rivera is completing his priestly formation studies at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon prior to ordination to the priesthood.

Three deacons were ordained to the priesthood: Deacons Michael Ishida, Miguel Gustavo Ruiz, and Alejandro Zepeda.

Father Ishida completed his theological studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., earlier this year. He is parochial vicar of St. Patrick and St. Francis Xavier parishes in Spokane.

Father Ruiz finished his studies this year at Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Ore., and has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Pasco.

Father Zepeda studied at The American College in Louvain, Belgium. He has been assigned as parochial vicar of St. Patrick and St. Francis of Assisi parishes in Walla Walla.

The Knights of Columbus prepare to process at the beginning of the ordination Mass.
