Like most of us, I have been praying regularly for a timely and honorable conclusion to the bankruptcy proceedings. It appears that we are at the beginning of the end, and this event will pass into history.
While praying recently, it came to my mind that it is timely to be praying for renewal in our diocese. We can’t go back to business as usual. So we can embrace Pope John Paul’s vision for a new springtime for our diocese. As the wise man said, “We build a new tomorrow on plans we make today.”
Perhaps a good Scripture to inspire us would be Philippians 3:13-14: “… one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining to what is ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
So each of us is in this adventure together. Remember the proverb: “If it is going to be, it is up to me.”
