Dinner seminar at St. Charles to address aging, long-term care

A dinner seminar on long-term care planning and other topics surrounding issues of lifestyle and aging will be held at St. Charles Parish on Thursday, Jan. 25, 6:30- 8:30 p.m.
Sponsored by St. Charles Knights of Columbus Council 8137, the event will include several speakers considered experts in the fields of elderlaw, long term care and aging. It is open to persons of all ages, whether members of St. Charles or not, or whether single or married, said K of C Grand Knight Ron Girkins.
“This subject is very important to those in their middle years as well as those nearing or in retirement. Information provided will help younger persons facing aging issues with their parents and those making lifestyle decisions of their own,” he said.
Cost of the event is $5 per person for those who register through Jan. 15. After that, the price is $10 per person. Fees will be collected at the door. Scholarships will be available for those needing assistance with fees.

Dinner fare will be chicken and pasta, prepared by Deacon John Sicilia of St. Charles.
Besides long term care protection, information will be available on medicare, medicaide, prescription drugs, asset planning, quality of life and more.
Plans also include having materials on hand from The Kaufer Company, such as reading materials on spirituality during the aging process.
