KC dinner-seminar to discuss aging, long-term care

Speakers have been confirmed for a Jan. 25 dinner-seminar on issues of aging and long-term care.
The seminar is being sponsored by the Knights of Columbus of St. Charles Parish, Spokane, and will be held in the parish hall, 4515 N. Alberta, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for early arrivals.
Tickets are $10, payable at the door.
Dinner will be a chicken and pasta meal prepared by Deacon John Sicilia. Reservations may be made by telephoning Grand Knight Ron Girkins at (509) 294-1984 or Deputy Grand Knight A.J. Harper at (509) 467-1946.
Featured speakers will include Ferd and Cheryl Mitchell of the Mitchell Law Office. The couple specializes in elderlaw and will give a team presentation on long-term care planning.
A panel of speakers will address long term-care from three perspectives:
Father Stan Malnar MD, a Spokane obstetrician, will speak to the spiritual and medical aspects of long term care.
Knights of Columbus General Agent Vincent Polis, who has 28 years of banking experience, will speak to the financial aspects of long-term care.
Sabrina Gonder, licensed in real estate services and community manager at Rockwood Lane Retirement Community, will address retirement living issues.
During dinner, Knights of Columbus field agents David Bailey and Jonas Hiner will give a slide presentation on long-term care issues to set the context for the evening.
A representative of The Kaufer Company also will be on hand with reading materials on issues of aging and spirituality.
