(From the Sept. 13, 2007 edition of the Inland Register)

Dom Bruno (Richard) Semple (right) made his solemn vows to the Canons Regular of St. Augustine in Klosterneuburg, Austria, Aug. 28, the Feast of St. Augustine. Dom Bruno, formerly a priest of the Spokane Diocese, is currently parochial vicar in the parish of St. Katherina in Langenzersdorf. Stift Klosterneuburg was founded in 1114 by Margrave Leopold III, the patron saint of Austria, and has 47 Canons from seven countries. The canonry takes care of 120,000 Catholics in 24 parishes in the Archdiocese of Vienna and one parish in Bergen, Norway. Pictured with Dom Bruno are The Most Rev. Bernhard Backovsky Can.Reg., 66th Provost and 17th Lateran Abbot of Klosterneuburg, Abbot General of the Austrian Congregation of the Canons Regular of St. Augustine, and Cathie Semple, Dom Bruno’s mother.
