the Inland Register

(CORRECTED From the Nov. 15, 2007 edition of the Inland Register)

As part of the non-monetary aspects of the Chapter 11 settlement, Bishop Skylstad has begun a series of visits to all parishes of the diocese where a priest served who has been credibly accused of sexual abuse, whether or not abuse has been reported in that parish.

During the parish visits, the bishop will apologize, identify the abuser, and ask victims to come forward and report.

The service is adapted from the general framework of Evening Prayer, from the Liturgy of the Hours, and is titled “Evening Prayer of Lamentation and Atonement.”
