A merry band, and with good reason

the Inland Register

(From the Dec. 20, 2007 edition of the Inland Register)

St. Mary School, Spokane Valley, recently hosted the Missoula Childrens’ Theatre production of Robin Hood, the 10th such performance at St. Mary. Each production is based on an adaptation of a classic tale. Students audition for the show on Monday after school. This year 68 students from kindergarten to eighth grade were cast and spent the week rehearsing lines, songs and entrance cues. Younger students participated in group roles and older students were cast in more complicated parts, according to their ability. Performances were staged on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Missoula Children’s Theatre provides all of the scripts, props, sets and costumes as well as two actor/directors for the show. Pictured are the “Merry Band” of performers: standing, from left, are Emily Bahr (fourth grade), Jacob Herrin (fifth), Patrick Hammersley (fifth), and Gayle Hammersley (fourth). Kneeling/sitting, from left, are Nina Wizner (eighth), Caleb Hood (eighth), Daniel Bahr (fifth), Emily Heine (seventh), and Ashley Herrin (eighth). In front: Jeffery Harrell (seventh).
