Enrolled in the Brown Scapular

the Inland Register

(From the Dec. 20, 2007 edition of the Inland Register)

Enrolled in the Brown Scapular At the school Mass on Friday, Dec. 7, the students in grades three and up at St. Patrick School, Spokane, were enrolled in the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel by the parish’s pastor, Father Victor Blazovich. The scapular is a constant reminder of committing oneself to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Mary is the perfect disciple, and those who wear the scapular seek the prayers of the Mother of God and desire to live under her protective mantle. Second graders at St. Patrick School, and those in the combined faith formation program at St. Patrick and St. Francis Xavier Parishes, will be enrolled in the Brown Scapular upon receiving the Sacrament of First Eucharist.
