(From the Jan. 17, 2008 edition of the Inland Register)

Sean Bailey, fifth grade teacher at All Saints School, Spokane, has been named the region’s Distinguished Teacher for 2008 by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).

Bailey has taught at All Saints for nine years – four years teaching fourth grade, and five in fifth.

He called the award “quite an honor, and I feel very blessed to be recognized.”

Before joining the faculty at All Saints, Bailey taught at St. Francis School, Spokane, until it closed.

“I love teaching in the Catholic Schools and can’t see teaching anywhere else,” he said in an e-mail interview. “I work with some of the greatest people and families I could imagine, and my life has truly been enriched and blessed by the experience.”

The award will be presented at a banquet the first night of the NCEA’s Annual convention, next March, in Indianapolis.
