Diocese to receive 50 tickets to papal Mass in New York

the Inland Register

(From the Jan. 17, 2008 edition of the Inland Register)

During his visit to the United States this spring, Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate a public Mass at Yankee Stadium on Sunday morning, April 20.

Dioceses of the United States are being allowed a set number of free tickets for the event. The Spokane Diocese has been allotted 50 tickets for the Mass.

Any Spokane Diocese parishioner who is interested in traveling to New York for the Mass should contact the Office of the Bishop to receive a ticket: call (509) 358-7305, or e-mail Mary Cole, Bishop Skylstad’s Executive Assistant, at mcole@dioceseofspokane.org

Those requesting tickets must provide the name, address, and date of birth of each individual requesting a ticket.

Ticket requests must be received no later than Jan. 31. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For up-to-date information on the papal visit to the United States, check the New York Archdiocese’s web site: www.archny.org
