In November, St. John Vianney School’s sixth, seventh, and eighth grade English classes embarked on a writing journey to show their patriotism for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Essay Contest. They were challenged with the task of producing an essay with the title “Why I Am an American Patriot.” St. John’s students placed in the top three for each grade. In sixth grade the winners are: 1st Place: Briann Troksa, 2nd Place Miranda Heid, 3rd Place Julia Brown. In seventh grade the winners are: 1st Place Hannah French, 2nd Place Josh Ridenbaugh, 3rd Place Matthew Szymanski. In eighth grade the winners are: 1st Place Max Kelly, 2nd Place Diana Nelson, 3rd Place Mac Johnson.
