Franciscan Sisters celebrate jubilees at Pennsylvania motherhouse

On June 22, more than 250 members of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia gathered in Our Lady of Angels Chapel in Aston, Pa., to give witness to the lives and service of the congregationís 34 jubilarians. Celebrating 80, 75, 70, and 50 years of Religious profession, the jubilarians represent 16 states and 34 dioceses, including Ireland; Antigua, West Indies; Africa, and Puerto Rico.

Two Ruby Jubilarians (80 years) previously ministered in the Diocese of Spokane: Sister Anna McLaughlin (formerly Sister Mary Josepha), at St. Joseph Orphanage, Spokane (1935-1936); and Sister Ethelwina Molloy, at Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Tekoa (1932-1934).

Two Golden Jubilarians previously ministered in the Diocese of Spokane, both at St. Charles School, Spokane: Sister Jacinta Marie Brazil (1980-1982), and Sister Maria Assunta Oman (1958-1963).
