Personal donations

the Inland Register

(From the Sept. 11, 2008 edition of the Inland Register)

Locks of Love is an organization that provides hair pieces free of charge to disadvantaged children who suffer from long-term hair loss. They collect human hair donated to them and turn it in to custom wigs made specifically for each child. The donated hair arrives at Locks of Love in the form of 10-inch-long ponytails and braids. Recently sisters Cassie and Olivia Fielding, both students at St. Mary School in Spokane Valley, teamed up to donate their hair to this special cause. Cassie (left) is a sixth grader this year; Olivia is in fifth grade. They received their new cut and style from St. Mary’s parishioner Donna Herrin at Details Salon in the Spokane Valley.
