Anna Marie Reger was born Dorothy Agnes Reger to John and Mary Anna Reger on Jan. 20, 1912 in Minneapolis, Minn. She was the youngest of nine children. Her parents, her three sisters and her five brothers have preceded her in death.
Sister Anna Marie entered the Dominican Sisters of Speyer, Germany in Kettle Falls, Wash., in 1958. Before joining the Dominican Sisters, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Minnesota and had worked as a lab technician in Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota. She served as manager of a hospital laboratory in San Diego, Calif.
After her novitiate, she faithfully served the patients, families and staff at Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Wash., from 1960-2002. Sister Annie brought great joy and delight to everyone she worked with and served.
In 2002 she retired to the Dominican Center in Spokane, where she enjoyed playing the piano and making rosaries.
A Vigil Service was held Sept. 28 at the Dominican Center, Spokane. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 29, also at the Dominican Center. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane.
