Three parishes host second annual benefit dinner-auction in Rosalia
the Inland Register
(From the Oct. 23, 2008 edition of the Inland Register)
Three parishes – Holy Rosary in Rosalia, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in St. John, and St. Catherine in Oakesdale – are combining forces for their second annual dinner auction, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, in Holy Rosary’s parish hall.
The event begins with Mass, celebrated by Father Mike Woods, at Holy Rosary.
The silent auction and prime rib dinner are set for 5-7 p.m., with an oral auction conducted by Mike Burnham and raffle drawings at 7 p.m.
Auction items include a gold and diamond necklace, a buff and polish auto detail, an Egger’s Meats smoked turkey, and Apple Cup tickets.
Other auction highlights: handmade goods, religious items, a gold and diamond cross necklace donated by Mark Webb Jewelers, a two-night bed-and-breakfast stay at Lake Roosevelt, a five-rooster pheasant hunt from Squaw Canyon Shooters, auto care items, and a Gonzaga fan package that includes basketball tickets and apparel.
“It was so much fun putting this event on last year, and we were thrilled with how many people came to the dinner and stayed throughout the auction,” said Emmy Widman, a Holy Rosary parish council member who helped organize the event. “We could not have been more pleased with the way things turned out and we are excited to put the dinner and auction on again this year.”
All of the money raised benefits and is divided equally between the three parishes.
Dinner tickets can be purchased ahead of time from church members, or at the door as space allows. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children age 5-12. Children age 5 and under are admitted free.
