Colville Knights sponsor ‘The Gospel According to John’

The Colville Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a production of the one-man show The Gospel According to John, performed by Oregon actor, writer and director Leonardo Defilippis on Friday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at the church, 320 N. Maple in Colville.

DeFilippis’s production draws the audience into an encounter with the mystical nature of the Gospel. Performing the presentation “is a very moving and awe-inspiring experience,” said DeFilippis. “To speak the words of Christ night after night has been life-changing for me personally.”

The event is suitable for those age 7 and up. A free-will donation will be taken.

Blessing the animals

To help celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi last month, Father Gustavo Ruiz, pastor of the parishes in Brewster and Twisp, blessed pets and other animals belonging to parishioners. This was the third year for the blessing of the animals, which brought together about 15 cats and dogs, two chickens, and, pictured, Moma, described as “a very sweet-looking and well-behaved donkey.” (IR photo courtesy of Helmut Theimer)
