    Adoption by gays

The U.S. bishops’ position that gay people should not adopt is an insult to all of the gay persons who are biological parents and/or step-parents. It is an offense to their children as well. It is unconscionable.

Gay men and women are our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, our children and our children’s children. What message have the U.S. bishops sent about the value of family when the bishops have so dishonored gay families and all persons who make up those families?
