‘No need to be alone or hungry on Christmas’

St. Charles Parish, 4515 N. Alberta St. in Spokane, is once again hosting a free dinner on Christmas Day, so that no one need be alone or hungry on Christmas. All are welcome.

This is the 33rd annual dinner sponsored by the parish.

Dinner – “with all the trimmings” – will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Transportation is available on the north side of Spokane. For information, call 327-9575.

St. Nicholas and St. Patrick

On Thursday, Dec. 4, St. Nicholas visited the students of St. Patrick School in Spokane to tell them about the original Christmas symbolism of the candy cane. After the lesson, every student received a candy cane from St. Nicholas. In return, the second graders gave him a lesson on the meaning of the Advent Wreath.
