Why We Give to the Annual Catholic Appeal: Steve and Mary Barnum

the Inland Register

(From the Feb. 5, 2009 edition of the Inland Register)

To give to any appeal, one needs to surrender to its definition.

To make an urgent request for help, to resort or turn for decision or justification. As the diocese presents itself in the yearly appeal, it is no different from raising money for your favorite radio station or television station for operations to be able to continue. For our diocese, it is the same. No radio, no TV just an appeal to support its ministries right here in our diocese. Take time to investigate, and then pray how God wants you to proceed in giving to this yearly event. If we place our “everyday” before the Lord, and allow him to direct us, we cannot be led astray.
