Sixth-grade teamwork

the Inland Register

(From the Feb. 26, 2009 edition of the Inland Register)

Working together in both faith and knowledge is evident in the sixth grade classes at Spokane’s Cataldo School. Whether it is taking their younger buddies to Thursday morning Mass, pairing up for a classroom assignment, or grouped together for a field trip excursion, part of this sixth grade education is centered around the Bible quote, “And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another.” Sara Raske, one Cataldo’s two sixth grade teachers, says, “Teamwork and team building excursions help foster a sense of community within the classroom. This helps students feel comfortable sharing thoughts and asking questions which enhance learning for everyone.” Pictured are members of both classes digging at the Rock Ranch in Spokane Valley for their science unit on rocks and their formations.
